My Bargaining Strategy

The most pertinent thing in my China life is that I have learned to bargain. I never used to bargain in India, but here I practice it as a hobby and enjoy bargaining whenever there is a possibility.
My first encounter with my bargaining strategy was in Xiamen, a special economic zone of china. I was an alien in the beach, a well known tourist area and was just wandering. There were lot of women doing shoe polishing job and ridiculously they found my shoes dirty and gather to offer their service.
It was an exact opportunity for me to practice my bargaining skill in Chinese. They start with four Yuan and lo and behold I made a woman to agree for two Yuan.
I sat on a wooden stool and the fifty plus woman started to polish my right shoe. It took ten minutes for her to polish my right shoe and she carefully got my foot in and tied up the lace.I was very delighted over her skill as I saw first time my shoe so bright after it left the showroom.
With most appreciation I moved my left shoe to her but unexpectedly she extended her hand for the money. I put two one Yuan coins to her hand; with a naughty look at my face she began to fold up her tools and proceeded to leave. I looked at my shoes that one resembled sunny and the other remained cloudy. As I stopped her and demanded to get my left shoe polished, with that same naughty look she required three Yuan extra for my left shoe, then I found no option but pull out my wallet.
